Jamar Rogers — one of the standout stars on "The Voice" Season 2 not just for his incredible talent, but because of his harrowing backstory about overcoming drug addiction and living with HIV — has been hospitalized in Los Angeles with a serious lung infection.

According to his manager, Jamar — who recently signed to Tommy Boy Entertainment and is set to release a new single, "Drink of You," on October 8 — sought medical treatment after performing a showcase in Hollywood on September 3, and he has spent the past week in the hospital. He is currently listed in critical condition and is in intensive care.

Jamar's mother has been by his side throughout this ordeal, and his former "Voice" coach, Cee Lo Green, has been in contact to wish him a speedy recovery. We here at Yahoo Music also send Jamar our well-wishes and prayers, and we hope he's back to performing for his fans very soon.
