Grace Askew was the fabulous "bluntry" (blues + country) singer from "The Voice" Season 4, the girl with the badass beehive, boots made for walkin', and velvet 'n' sandpaper vocals who would've been right at home on Jack White's Third Man Records roster.
Apparently she wasn't right at home on "The Voice," unfortunately, as her coach Blake Shelton eliminated her during the Knockout Rounds in favor of his beloved Swon Brothers. No offense to the Swons (or to anyone else who advanced last season), but "The Voice" Season 4 wasn't nearly as cool after Grace left under pressure.
But she's back, y'all. Grace has just debuted the new video for her original track "Empty Rooms," a smoldering and searing alt-bluntry track that brings to mind Lucinda Williams, Giant Sand, a little bit of Lana Del Rey, and of course, June Carter Cash. It's quite awesome.
