Susan Boyle sings gorgeous love songs, but now she's looking for the real thing. The "Britain's Got Talent" star, who embarks on her first live tour this week, has said that she's on the hunt for a good man.
The 52-year-old Scottish singer who took the world by storm with her incredible voice admitted that she'd like to have someone to share her life with, but it's difficult for her to find the time. "I want to find a man but it’s hard with all the traveling I do," she told Britain's The Sun.
Boyle, who has never been married and dedicated years of her life to caring for her aging mother until her death a few years ago, told the Daily Mirror last year that she's looking for love, but doesn't want to try her luck with internet dating. "Internet dating? Are you having a laugh?" she said. "Knowing my luck I’d go out on a date and you'd find my limbs scattered around various Blackburn dustbins! I believe in letting things happen naturally and not shopping for a man on the Internet. If my soulmate is out there then I will find him, but it won't be on a computer."
That said, SuBo wouldn't mind being set up by friends. "I really want to start going on dates and I’ve asked my friends to set me up with a good man — if they can find one," she told The Sun. "I’d like to settle down one day."
Boyle added that she recently shared a kiss with a handsome man and found it rather enjoyable. The singer, who is making her film debut in The Christmas Candle, shared an onscreen smooch with her co-star, Braveheart and "Game of Thrones" actor James Cosmo. "I had to kiss him…as we had a kissing scene," she said. "It was my first onscreen kiss. It was lovely. I didn't know about the kissing scene when I signed up, but I wasn’t complaining."
Boyle's nearly sold-out tour begins July 2 in Inverness, Scotland, and will take her around the U.K. If all goes well, she may continue on to a world tour, and perhaps meet her soulmate along the way.
