Sofia Vergara works hard to look hot.
The 41-year-old "Modern Family" star constantly parades around in cleavage-baring dresses, teetering high heels, and a slick of lipstick with her long brunette locks perfectly in place. Doesn't the Colombian bombshell find it exhausting being sexy 24 hours a day?
"No. I'm Latin; I do it no matter what. It's automatic," she says in the August issue of Harper's Bazaar. "I shower, do hair and makeup. For me, it's like shaving. I don't believe in a natural look. Lipstick brightens your face! Unless you're Gisele Bündchen or 19, you need something."
She continues, "Most of my girlfriends are very good with it because they're Latin, but some of the Americans, I give them lipstick like, 'Put it on!'"
Vergara also makes sure to accessorize each of her girly outfits with the perfect (and pricey) accessory: a Birkin bag from Hermes. She owns five of them! With prices starting at around $10,000 a pop, she jokes that her 21-year-old son Manolo's college fund could suffer as a result of her handbag fetish.
"I tell Manolo, 'If I don't have enough money for your college this month, you have to sell the Birkins,'" she notes. "My business manager is very traditional, Jewish guy. Every time I buy one of those, he calls me and says, 'Sofia, it's Craig. Did you buy this, or is it a fraud? I'm like, 'Craig, listen … what would you prefer? Me popping champagne bottles and doing drugs and wasting money or buying bags? These are valuable. These, Manolo can sell!'"
All kidding aside, Vergara is currently the highest paid actress on TV, earning $19 million a year, so she can afford a few more Birkins!
In addition to her son and business manager, Vergara's fiancé, businessman Nick Loeb, is the other man in her life. As Vergara explains, the couple met when they "got stuck together at a table" at the Golden Globes a few years ago.
"We started fighting from the beginning," she reveals, adding that she was immediately taken with his good looks.
"He's really handsome. He's six foot four, and he has blue eyes and a lot of black hair," she says, then stops. "Or it used to be black. Now it's got a lot of white in it. Nick says all the white hair came from me."
Vergara is set to return for a fifth season as her character Gloria Pritchett, who was created especially for her, in September. However, one day she hopes to take on a much different role.
"I don't think there's ever going to be a better part for me," she shares. "But I do think — and my son and boyfriend agree with me — that I could play a crazy psychopath. I'm not joking."
A fashionable psychopath, of course.
