The Sinéad O’Connor and Miley Cyrus Ping Pong Match Continues

Well that didn't go as planned. In case you've managed to miss it, a mere hours after Sinéad O'Connor posted her (first) open letter to Miley Cyrus urging her to put her tongue away and her clothes back on, the young star hit up Twitter to attack her former role model by comparing her to Amanda Bynes and reminding the world that she once tore up a picture of the Pope on national TV.

But Sinéad wasn't going to take that lying down (and by "lying down" we mean without using the Internet to fight back). In a second open letter to the 20-year-old singer, O'Connor used a far less caring tone, not that we blame her. And she even went so far as to mention getting lawyers involved.

"Miley… Really? Who the f**k is advising you? Because taking me on is even more f**kin' stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism," Sinéad begins.

"You have posted today tweets of mine which are two years old, which were posted by me when I was unwell and seeking help so as to make them look like they are recent," she laments before adding, "In doing so you mock myself and Amanda Bynes for having suffered with mental health issues and for having sought help."

Writing that she is "staggered" that Miley "could behave in such a dangerous and irresponsible manner," O'Connor then goes on the offense. "Remove your tweets immediately or you will hear from my lawyers."

But the Irish singer isn't only concerned about herself. "I hope that you will apologise to Amanda Bynes and to any person who has been wounded by your mockery of those who have suffered," she states. "And I hope that you will wake up and understand that you in fact are a danger to women… You could really do with educating yourself, that is if you’re not too busy getting your t*** out to read."

Miley apparently did do some reading, of O'Connor's letter, at least. And (predictably) blasted back with yet another tweet.

"Sinead. I don't have time to write you an open letter cause Im hosting & performing on SNL this week," she typed. "So if youd like to meet up and talk lemme know in your next letter. :)"

For reasons that escape us, Sinéad did as Miley predicted and wrote yet another letter. "I have no interest whatsoever in meeting you," O'Connor declares and goes on to slam the star for failing to apologize to Amanda Bynes as she had previously requested, as well as to every victim who has suffered mental illness or abuse by priests.

She then reiterates her prior threats of legal action before making a promise. "When you end up in the psych ward or rehab I'll be happy to visit you.. and would not lower myself to mock you. ... Soon it will be you the media 'crazy' .. and you will not enjoy it.. and you will appreciate people (like myself) standing up for you. Which I will be happy to do.. if you earn my respect today by apologising publicly."

Umm, Sinéad, good luck with that.
