Sinead O'Connor has been in the news due to her ongoing feud with Miley Cyrus, but Miley isn't the only target of Sinead's wrath these days. Earlier this week, the always-outspoken alt-rock icon appeared on Ireland's "The Late Late Show" and blasted TV singing competitions, namely Simon Cowell's "The X Factor," for "murdering music."
"The industry has taken over so much. The money-making side of it, the sexualizing of extremely young people making records, and all the worship with money and bling and diamonds, all the Simon Cowell, ['X Factor U.K.' judge] Louis Walsh — it all amounts to the murder of music, and that's what concerns me," Sinead stated on the show.
"The power of rock 'n' roll to change things, to move people, is being murdered by all of this worship of fame, 'Pop Idol,' 'X Factor,' all this stuff," Sinead told the show's host, Ryan Tubridy. "People like Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh — who doesn't even know how to burn a CD as of the last time I saw him — deciding what records should sound like, and deciding who gets to be famous and who doesn't."
Well, Simon Cowell has never been one to shy away from a good publicity opportunity, especially where "The X Factor" is concerned. So of course, he reached out to Sinead via Twitter this Tuesday, inviting her to be a guest judge on "The X Factor."
I think sinead o'connor would be a real fun guest judge on X factor. She loves the show and everything I do. Let me know sinead.

It's unlikely that Sinead would ever take Simon up on the offer, but honestly, if the famously mouthy "Emperor's New Clothes" singer ever did appear on "The X Factor," she'd probably be a fantastic judge — especially if she mentored the Girls category and was as forthcoming with her advice to those impressionable young contestants as she was in her first open letter to Miley.
Come on, Sinead, give Simon a call!
