Monday night, as I watched what was supposed to be the finale of "RuPaul's Drag Race 4," I was on pins and (Sharon) needles as I waited to find out if Chad Michaels, Sharon Needles, or Phi Phi O'Hara would be crowned this year's queen. And the winner was...NO ONE. Shante, everybody stayed.
Argh! It turns out that in a new, obscenely aggravating twist, Season 4's champion will be announced on NEXT Monday's reunion show, after fans vote by using the hashtag #DragRace on Twitter (@RuPaulsDragRace) or by posting on the show's Facebook page.
Personally, I think Sharon Needles is the queen to beat. The goth goddess was tentacle-hands-down the most original "Drag Race" contestant this season, and her victory--much like the victory of edgy, envelope-pushing queen Raja last year--would help further avenge the defeat of "Drag Race's" original dark princess, Season 2's totally robbed Raven.
However, Sharon faces some fierce competition from Chad, the consummate old-school "professional," and Phi Phi, arguably the "fishiest" of the three. Sharon is admittedly at a disadvantage due to her lack of dance prowess in the Season 4 music video challenge below...but come on, doesn't she make the most convincing glamazonian monster?
Watch the final three queens lip-synch for their lives in RuPaul's "Glamazon" video, then go vote for your favorite (Sharon, cough). And DON'T f*** it up.
