Robin Thicke Covers Icona Pop’s Summer Hit “I Love It”

Stop The Presses!

By Laura Ferreiro

Robin Thicke showcases his smooth-as-silk vocal stylings on an unexpected treatment he gave to one of the biggest party hits of the summer – Icona Pop's "I Love It." On BBC Radio's "Live Lounge," the R&B crooner performed a stripped-down, soulful cover of the tune that has fueled countless dance parties and beach barbecues.

On his unlikely version, Thicke plays keyboards and is accompanied by a full band. The 35-year-old crooner even modifies some of the lyrics to better suit himself and make it more G-rated, changing the line, "You're from the '70s, but I'm a '90s b*tch" to "I'm from the '70s but you're a '90s chick."

Seems a bit ironic for the man who has stirred up plenty of controversy with the decidedly R-rated video for his recent hit single, "Blurred Lines." He dropped the latest single from his forthcoming album, "Go Stupid 4 U," on Monday, and is gearing up to release the highly anticipated Blurred Lines album on July 30.
