OMG Girlz On Being Materialistic, Dyeing Their Hair, Reality TV And The Scream Tour

During Part II of my sitdown with the OMG Girlz, Beauty, Baby Doll and Star offer a wealth of exclusive information.

Even though the girls signed to Grand Hustle / Streamline / Interscope sing songs about designer purses and clothes, they want people to understand that there is a deeper message behind their music. "Most people think that we're really materialistic because most of our songs are about getting money and having bags, but we do want people to know that young girls can have what they want to have without having a guy to get it for them," Beauty said.

The girls want to counter the message depicted on shows like "Basketball Wives" and "The Real Housewives" series that portray women looking for sugar daddies.

The OMG Girlz are reality TV stars themselves, having appeared on two shows, BET's "Tiny & Toya" and VH1's "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle." Star, who is the daughter of Tiny and T.I., said her family is quite comfortable with having their lives documented on television.

"It's comfortable because my family is really crazy so when the cameras are around you hardly know they are there," she said. "We all act normal. It's nothing fake. How my family is on TV is how we really are. [My brother] King is really that bad."

Baby Doll, who joined the group two years ago, first heard about the OMG Girlz while watching "Tiny & Toya." So she was surprised when the OMG Girlz saw some of her YouTube videos and wanted to talk to her about joining the group after some of the original members left.

"The transition was smooth," Beauty explained. "Two girls left. Lolo is my sister. She was totally OK leaving the group. Her and [Lil Wayne's daughter] Reginae, they actually have their own group. We're all just really good friends. They love Baby Doll so much. There's no animosity."

The girls are also getting a lot of good advice from their parents. Beauty said her mother encouraged her to dye her hair. "My mom was like, 'You need to dye your hair pink," she said.

Tiny always compares the OMG Girlz to her 1990s girl group, Xscape. "She tells us little stories and tour stories about them," Star said. "It's really a blessing to have them now."

T.I. is more strict than Tiny. "It's just my pops," Star said. "He's more old school. Everything to him isn't the right way all the time. Sometimes he's like, 'Oh, that's too much or that's not going to work.'"

The OMG Girlz were surprised when T.I. wrote a pop song for them. "He recorded every part," Star said about the still untitled track. "He had different raps. He did our verses. He was singing. It's girly, so he said … 'Something like when my nails done let my bubblegum pop.' We were dyeing laughing. He was like, 'What's so funny?' We were all like, 'Wow.' Really shocked that he did it."

"It turned out to be a really good song," Beauty said.
