Lost Kurt & Courtney Duet Surfaces Online

Stop The Presses!

A lost love duet between the late Kurt Cobain and his wife Courtney Love, intriguingly and grungily titled "Stinking Of You," has surfaced online, thanks to a new rockumentary, Hit So Hard: The Life And Near Death Story Of Patty Schemel, about troubled Hole drummer Patty Schemel and the 1990s Seattle music scene.

The buzzy clip, taken from the P. David Ebersole-directed film, features Courtney strumming an acoustic guitar with Kurt joining in on vocals, along with home footage of the infamous alt-rock power couple with their then-infant daughter, Frances Bean.

The clip has surfaced right around the time when Kurt and Courtney are back in the news for reasons both good and bad. On the positive side, Hole's famous mid-'90s lineup reunited, totally unannounced, on April 14 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, following a screening of the Schemel film; it was their first performance together since 1999. And two days later, ex-Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson reignited the public's interest for all things Cobain when he told Fuse TV that Kurt had recorded an entire album of unreleased solo demos before his death in 1994, saying: "He was headed in a direction that was really cool. It would have been his White Album. That's really what he was going towards, a solo album but working with different people."

However, Courtney herself unfortunately received the most attention recently for her outrageous comments on Twitter claiming that Kurt's former Nirvana bandmate, Dave Grohl, had hit on Frances Bean--prompting outrage from Dave, Frances, and the public at large.

Will the recent Hole reunion and this unexpectedly sweet duet clip help put Courtney back in fans' good graces? Maybe so. If not, then perhaps her upcoming art show, "And She's Not Even Pretty!," will help. The show runs May 3 through June 15 at New York's Fred Torres Collaborations gallery.
