"American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez hit the stage on Thursday's results show to perform her new single "I Luh Ya Papi," but she totally got upstaged by a trio of very familiar-looking ladies with very powerful voices. There was a lot to luv about this performance.
Forming a sort of "Idol" supergroup, Season 8's Allison Iraheta, Season 10's Pia Toscano, and Season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez joined J.Lo on a faux Bronx tenement stoop to dish about their Season 13 "Idol" crushes (Allison adorably joked that current contestant Alex Preston is her "papi," although in real life she's married to her Halo Circus bandmate, Matthew Hager), before the women belted an a cappella intro to Jennifer's new tune.
Although J.Lo sounded surprisingly solid, she of course couldn't keep up with Allison, Pia, and Jessica — three of the finest female vocalists in recent "Idol" memory. The fact that none of these girls won their respective seasons was a little baffling. And the fact that they were singing backup for Jennifer Lopez was, frankly, a little maddening.

But that being said, it was great to see these girls getting some more deserved screentime, as Jenny welcomed then back to the "Idol" block.
