The Fall Tour Schedule For 2013!

Rob O'Connor
List Of The Day (NEW)

Just because summer’s over and the time is now officially wrong for dancing in the streets doesn’t mean the party stops! In most cases, it means the party goes indoors! For those who love climate-controlled atmospheres, this news couldn’t be better!

Here are some of the excellent, most anticipated shows available as people in the colder climes begin winterizing their homes and people in California cry because they have to wear a jacket in the evening!

Las Vegas is jammed with people like Rod Stewart and Shania Twain who’d prefer you travel to them. The Dixie Chicks will stay in Canada! And The Eagles never go away!

15) Chris Cornell – Songbook Tour:

Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell brings his folkie guitar along for an acoustic tour that will feature selections from his solo catalog as well as those from his old band, including specially-arranged tunes from Soundgarden’s 2012 album King Animal, their first in over 16 years. Canada, California, New England and New Jersey feature prominently on the schedule.

14) Barenaked Ladies – Last Summer On Earth Tour:

Looking to see real-life Canadians in action? Look no further than these ‘Barrel-O-Laffs’ entertainers who even showed us their serious side lately. Throughout October they’ll be menacing through our innocent but United States pretending summer never ended! It’s Minneapolis on October 9 winding through Ohio, NYC, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida and Knoxville, Tennessee on November 3. Let’s keep our composure, eh?

13)Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson – The Honda Civic Tour:

Not sure if they all have to tour together in a lone Honda Civic, but the tour of that name will bring all the members of Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson, hopefully to an Amphitheatre near you. It’s been going since August, but will continue through September and the beginning of October. Maybe if we clap even harder, we can make them tour until December!

12) fun. – Most Nights Tour:

fun. were not kidding when they called their tour ‘Most Nights,’ since most nights you can catch them somewhere bringing their lower-case fun to appreciative fans who just love their daring punctuation. They’re in California in early September, but they break out to Phoenix, Dallas, Tuscaloosa, Alabama and mostly shows below the Mason-Dixon line through to October 9!

11) Brian Wilson/Jeff Beck:

Jeff Beck is one of the rock generation’s greatest guitarists and getting him to leave home is no small feat. However, co-headlining with another living legend in Brian Wilson was likely enough to seal the deal. According to Wilson, there are new tunes to be played and Beach Boys co-founder Al Jardine and original member David Marks will also be on the tour. It turns out, all you need is not (Mike) Love.

10) The Avett Brothers:

The oldest-looking young people on Earth will continue to take their classic Americana sounds to places like Philadelphia, Cleveland, New York, Albuquerque, Los Angeles, Boise, Vancouver and Chicago. The dates are usually at least a few days apart, giving you time to get your horse and buggy a-ridin’.

9) Lady Antebellum - Take Me Downtown Tour:

Lady-A (not O) will be back on the road come November 8 when Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi hosts the previously-pregnant, now new-MOM, singer Hillary Scott and the other two dudes for the opening of a tour that’s said to continue into 2014. If you plan on being at the Target Center in Minneapolis on December 5, I recommend you wear two pairs of socks!

8) Dawes:

L.A.’s Laurel Canyon sound-huggers Dawes ventured into the big bad world this year and will continue to do so throughout September and October, enjoying the support of a number of revolving solo acts, including Hayes Carll, Jonathan Rice, Jason Isbell, Caitlin Rose and The Wild Feathers. Plan on packing the whole family in the RV and hitting New Jersey, Illinois, Nashville, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and Arkansas among the many scenic states and towns where mellowness will be king for a day!

7) Janelle Monae – The Electric Lady Tour:

Her new single “Prime Time,” featuring Miguel, tells you Monae intends to break big and bad this year, with her second album The Electric Lady dropping September 10 on Bad Boy Records. First single “Q.U.E.E.N.,” featuring Erykah Badu, further tells us Monae is done taking the modest road and will let everybody know! From Philly on October 13 to Austin, Texas on November 12 and everywhere in between!

6) Luke Bryan – Dirt Road Diaries Tour:

Country music fans get their chance to leave the house and catch one of the music’s most popular, relatively new stars in action. The Georgia-native is already in progress, but he’s available for viewing in September in Wichita, KS, Tulsa, OK, Salt Lake City, UT, Englewood, CO, Albuquerque, NM, Ohio, Georgia, Nashville and Florida.

5) Bon Jovi - Because We Can Tour:

You may have to see their contemporaries playing the County Fair circuit, but not these Jersey boys! Throughout October, they’ll be playing select dates in arenas in Washington, California, Las Vegas, Texas and Connecticut! If you live in the middle of the US, now might be the time to visit California or to see just how big things get in Texas.

4) Pearl Jam – Lightning Bolt Tour:

Groups with guitars may be on the way out, but not as long as Stone Gossard and Mike McCready continue to wear them! In support of their latest Brendan O’Brien-produced album Lightning Bolt, Pearl Jam will kick off their tour on October 11 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA and continue through at least December 6 when the band hit their hometown of Seattle, WA and entertain folks at the Key Arena.

3) Pink – The Truth About Love:

Apparently, people really want to know the ‘truth’ about ‘love’ because they’re buying up tickets for Pink’s latest tour, which has been going since February and will be at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA on October 10 and will run through to the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA on December 14.

2) Justin Timberlake – The 20/20 Experience Tour:

Though it sure seems as if JT is everywhere all the time, apparently, he’s now “back” after taking a six-year hiatus from music! Well, he hasn’t taken a hiatus from being famous and surely his tickets will be among the hottest in your town! TG Garden in Boston, MA will host the JT opener on November, 4 and, thus far, there are dates cruising as far as into February, 2014 when on the 16th, Timbertoes will be at the United Center in Chicago, which is supposed to be a heckuva town!

1) Drake – Would You Like A Tour:

Those of us of a certain age can’t help but think of Drake’s Cakes, but for those of you who don’t require assistance with your daily routines, you’ll surely want to catch the politest man in show business whose third album Nothing Was The Same drops in September. Beginning in September and running through November, Drake will visit Canada for six dates and spend most of his time woo-ing crowds in Minnesota, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan, Atlanta, Miami, NYC and California. Would you like that?
