Stop The Presses!

What's the worst bathroom in the world? Famed New York club CBGB most likely holds that proud title, as dozens of odes (if you can call them that) exist to its restroom's legendary unsanitary-ness. The iconic loo was even recreated as an actual art exhibit a couple of years ago.

However, the toilet wasn't the only gritty thing about CBGB. In this exclusive first look at the new film CBGB -- which brings the tale of the now-closed club to music fans who either never experienced (or wish to relive) it -- we get a look at the other creepy crawlies and assorted grime that adorned this legendary '70s scene. Suffice to say, no white glove treatment, but that's what gives the venue its...flavor. Could you handle hanging here? Punk rock!

Originally conceived as a place to house country, bluegrass, and blues (hence the acronym "CBGB"), the founder of CBGB, Hilly Kristal, found himself booking a host of up-and-coming punk and rock bands -- inadvertently creating a forum for some of which would become the most iconic names in the music world, such as Blondie, the Ramones, Patti Smith, Television, Talking Heads, and many others.

CBGB will make its theatrical premiere at NYC's Sunshine Cinema on October 8; then will be shown at the CBGB Music & Film Festival in from October 9 through October 13. It will be nationally released in select theaters beginning October 11.
