Cleveland Hero Charles Ramsey Gets Auto-Tuned in “Dead Giveaway” Video
Cleveland hero Charles Ramsey is the latest newsmaker to be given the auto-tune treatment by viral video mix-masters the Gregory Brothers.
The Brooklyn-based quartet is best known for its "Bed Intruder Song" video as well as the "Auto-Tune the News" series. Ramsey is the Cleveland restaurant dishwasher who has become an overnight hero on Monday after helping Amanda Berry and two other women escape from a home where they were held captive for a decade.
The video, featuring an auto-tuned version of Ramsey's TV interviews, includes such classic lines as "I knew something was wrong when a little pretty white girl ran into a black man's arms" and "my neighbor got big testicles because we seen this dude every day."
We'd like to think that the Gregory Brothers aren't mocking Ramsey, who is a legitimate hero for taking action and helping the captive women escape, and that appears to be the case. When the group posted the video earlier today on their Facebook page, they referred to Ramsey as "our new hero."
Still, maybe a new version of David Bowie's "Heroes" would have been more appropriate.
