Carly Rae Jepsen Goes Wild — On the Pitcher’s Mound

Stop The Presses! (NEW)

Maybe Carly Rae Jepsen should record a new song called "Call Me the World's Worst Ceremonial Pitcher Ever."

The "Call Me Maybe" singer was chosen to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Sunday's game between the Houston Astros and the Tampa Bay Rays and to put it lightly, Carly went wild. Good thing for Carly, Tampa's Tropicana Field was pretty empty, but of course, these days everything is captured on camera.

We don't want to be sexist and say Carly throws like a girl. After all, we've seen grown men foul up their chance in the spotlight with awful first pitches, but Carly's may be the worst ever. She held on to the ball too long and once she released it, it headed almost straight for the ground, barely making it half way to the plate. She did, however, look pretty dang cute in her Rays jersey, jean shorts and sneakers. And, she showed she has a sense of humor by laughing it all off.

We should consider that there probably isn't a single good pitcher that has recorded a pop masterpiece like "Call Me Maybe." Every time we hear it, it stays in our head for days. Oh snap, there it goes again.

So maybe Carly can't pitch, but she sure can make a hit.
