Hey girl hey, it's the new Carly Rae! Grammy nominee and Canadian Idol alum Carly Rae Jepsen tweeted a coy over-the-shoulder pic of her pretty new hair color on Tuesday. The lovely shade of red is a perfect match for her Coca-Cola-sponsored "Perfect Harmony" performance on the American Idol finale.
I've always wanted to go red! twitter.com/carlyraejepsen…— Carly Rae Jepsen (@carlyraejepsen) May 7, 2013
Jepsen last dyed her hair in 2012 when she went from her natural deep brown hair color to an edgy jet black. We love any excuse for a hair makeover -- I mean, look at the wonders it has done for Miley!
The "Call Me Maybe" singer is the third star behind Taio Cruz and Jason Derulo chosen to participate in the annual "Perfect Harmony" program where fans vote on everything about Jepsen's upcoming Idol performance: what lyrics of her specially-penned song "Take A Picture" she'll sing, the theme, the stage effects, and even what the singer's backup dancers will be wearing. But the red hair color was not a fan vote, just a fresh look!
Carly Rae Jepsen is the only artist confirmed to be performing on the first of the two-night American Idol finale show on May 15 and 16. Other performers rumored to be included in the surely star-studded season wrap-up are Adam Lambert with finalist Angie Miller, '60s icon Frankie Valli, The Band Perry, former Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, and current judge Mariah Carey.
