American Idol, The Day After: Top 9 Performances Dish

Last night, the "American Idol" top nine sang the songs of Lennon & McCartney, but many of the contestants disappointingly revealed that they were largely unfamiliar with the Beatles' catalog--even with "Idol" staple songs like "Let It Be." Equally disappointing--to me, at least--was the fact that my boy Charlie Askew didn't win the singoff to be the 11th bonus contestant on this summer's "Idol" concert tour, instead losing out to Aubrey Cleland. Um, how did that happen?

Yes, these are trying times for an "Idol" fan like myself. Thankfully, I get by with a little help from my friend: my "The Day After" cohost, Matt Whitfield. Watch me and Matt talk about Charlie, "Idol's" quickly shifting demographics, last night's performances, and a little band called THE BEATLES, all in our latest chatfest.
