Aaron Carter Beat Down by New Kids on the Block Fans?!
Never underestimate the power of boy-band loyalty. Proof? Pop star Aaron Carter claims he got his rear end kicked over the weekend by a group of uber-loyal New Kids On The Block fans.
The 25-year-old Carter, who is currently on his After Party tour, says he got jumped when he arrived in Boston to play a date. Boston, of course, is where NKOTB originated — and apparently still maintains a rabid following.
About the only thing that would make the whole story worse is if Carter got beat down by a pack of tween-age girls, but these were allegedly grown men defending the NKOTB's honor. (Well, wait — perhaps that actually makes the story worse.)
At any rate, according to TMZ, Carter said he was approached by a large male who informed him "This is the town of the New Kids," and then proceeded to beat him up with the help of three other men. Carter insists he got a few punches in, but posted some shots on Instagram that make it look as if he definitely got the short end of the stick.
Carter, whose older brother Nick is famously a member of rival boy-band the Backstreet Boys, refused to file a "girly" police report and — despite his livid bruises — claimed "People think I'm a pretty little white boy but no way. I think I won. I'm still standing."
He also assured fans he fully intended to take the stage as planned Sunday evening. Talk about "hangin' tough!"
Carter made a little joke on Twitter after the smackdown, asking NKOTB member Jordan Knight about the guy who beat him up: "One of your homies?" He later clarified that he and Knight are friends, that he was merely kidding around, and that folks shouldn't assume the thugs were actually real NKOTB fans.
