#1 Hit Summer Songs of the 2010s (So Far)

In 1975, the total number of songs that reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the summer months of June, July and August was nine.

In 2012, the total of #1 hits was just three for the summer months. When you look at the Billboard charts objectively, it's easy to see that songs that reach #1 stay there longer on average than they did decades ago. This fact is counter-intuitive when one considers there's A LOT more music being made today, and that it's A LOT more accessible.

I've already done a series of #1 summer hits from previous decades, but I thought it would be interesting to see how the 2010s are shaping up.

For this playlist I've included every song that has reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the summer months of 2010, 2011, 2012. I have also included the first confirmed summer #1 hit of 2013, "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

So what do you think the summer hits of the 2010s so far?
