Yahoo! On the Road has almost begun! Grammy-nominated band the Lumineers performed a preview show for Yahoo!'s cross-country extravaganza with a performance in New York City that was streamed live coast-to-coast.
A well-deserved respite from NewFronts presentations, the Lumineers had the audience on their feet dancing and singing along! Filling the theater with their jangling brand of folk rock, the short and sweet set included the heart-wrenching "Dead Sea", the Sawmill Jones-penned "Ain't Nobody's Problem", true-rejection-story-turned-song "Classy Girls", and the delightfully befuddling "Submarines".
For their breakout hit "Ho Hey", frontman Wesley Schultz stopped the performance not once, but twice, saying his guitar just wasn't tuned right. "Only the best for you guys," he said, as he turned to make adjustments. And like a well-oiled locomotive, the band jumped right back on track to finish the song.
Oh Wesley, you spoil us so.
Full live stream setlist:
- I Ain't Nobody's Problem (Sawmill Jones)
- Classy Girls
- Ho Hey
- Flowers in Your Hair
- Dead Sea
- (New duet for next album)
- Stubborn Love
Once their set was complete, the band treated the audience to a special acoustic moment off the stage, playing "Ho Hey" once again. Bummer for those of us watching the live stream, but no matter: Yahoo! On the Road will be hitting a town near you!
