On the Road
Look for Yahoo! On the Road, the nation's first mobile entertainment and innovation festival, featuring bands, DJs, and comedians performing throughout the month of May in cities from coast to coast. After the U.S. tour's last show in San Francisco on May 31, On the Road moves overseas for dates in European cities until the final stop in London on July 14 for the Yahoo! Wireless Festival.
A meteoric rise in 25-year-old rapper Kendrick Lamar's career has seen big accomplishments. Signed with Top Dawg Entertainment, Lamar is developing new ventures with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records, while also being a member of Black Hippy. He was anointed "the new king of the West Coast" by Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, and Game during a California concert in 2011. Lamar's debut album, "good kid, m.A.A.d city," was released in 2012 and went gold straight away. In 2013, MTV named Lamar Hottest MC, beating out the likes of 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Kanye West, Drake, and more big names.
After a few years of doing backup and demos with names like Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Natasha Bedingfield, Kelly Clarkson, Brandy, and Nicki Minaj, plus three successful seasons of background singing on television's "Glee," RaVaughn struck out with a solo single, "Better Be Good," featuring Wale. Signed with singer/songwriter/producer Ne-Yo's Compound University label, that success will be followed by the release of her first solo album later this year.
