Poor Ms. Lauryn Hill can't seem to catch a break. Earlier this week we discovered that the one-time Fugees singer had sent a letter to asking the court for probation when she's sentenced on tax evasion on April 22, so she continue to work and can eventually pay back Uncle Sam. Now comes word from TMZ that Hill is being sued for eviction.
Since 2009, she's been renting a mansion in South Orange, New Jersey, but she reportedly stopped paying her rent in March, prompting her landlord to file for eviction. Either Lauryn comes up with the money for rent, or she'll be out of the street. She last performed on Feb. 2, 2013, when she headlined the Ragga Muffin festival in Rotorua, New Zealand.
TMZ makes a joke of it all, writing, "The good news, she's probably going to prison so she won't need that place anyway." We have a feeling that Lauryn isn't laughing.
