On Tuesday, Bon Jovi premiered the video for "What About Now," the title track from their 12th studio album, which debuted at the top of the Billboard charts when it was released in March. It's an epic concert video featuring tons of Jon Bon Jovi closeups, fist-pumping fans, and sweeping arena shots. Longtime fans can rest easy, because guitarist Richie Sambora is featured in the video numerous times, despite rumors that he's no longer a part of the band.
Bon Jovi issued a statement in early April saying that Sambora was would not be continuing on the current leg of their tour due to "personal issues," offering no further explanation.
There's been plenty of speculation in the media and on fan sites about the reason for Sambora's leave of absence, including disputes over money and a possible substance abuse relapse, but none of it has been confirmed.
Bon Jovi are gearing up for international dates in Europe, South America, and South Africa before more U.S. dates scheduled for the summer, and it remains to be seen whether Sambora will rejoin the band by then.
