Even rock stars take maternity leave from their jobs! It looks as if the Black Eyed Peas may possibly be arranging a temp to take lead lady Fergie's place--at least for a while, after she has her baby this year.
According to Perez Hilton, who exclusively broke the news, sources have suggested that the Grammy-winning group is quietly auditioning singers to fill Fergie's place in anticipation of her expected time off post-birth.
Fergie's also reportedly doing some writing on another solo album, so that may delay her participation with the BEPs as well.
At any rate, it seems clear that her bandmates aren't permanently kicking her out. They simply want to continue working in her absence--they've got plans set to start recording in 2013--and will welcome her back whenever she's ready.
Less clear is who exactly is auditioning to fill Fergie's slot, or how fans will react to the collective without the Dutchess on board.
Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel announced her pregnancy in February. It'll be the first child for both. No due date has been released as of yet.
