Black Students Forced To Leave Donald Trump Rally At Valdosta State University
On Monday night (Feb. 29), GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump held a rally at Valdosta Sate University in Valdosta, Georgia. Yet before he even began his discourse, he asked that 30 African American students who were standing quietly on the bleachers be removed.
It also doesn’t help that Valdosta was an all-white campus only up until 1963.
According to USA Today, the students stated they planned on remaining quiet, and were not planning to cause any trouble. They just wanted to protest, most clad in all black attire.
“We didn’t plan to do anything,” said Tahjila Davis tearing up, a 19 year-old mass media student at Valdosta. “They said, ‘This is Trump’s property; it’s a private event.’ But I paid my tuition to be here.”
But yet again, Trump has garnered negative publicity for his questionable ethics, and his stance on racial issues. Just this past Sunday (Feb. 28) he came under fire for his unwillingness to condemn a white supremacist Ku Klux Klan leader. Also, earlier on Monday, during a Trump rally at Radford University in Virginia black students were also removed for yelling:“No more hate! No more hate! Let’s be equal, let’s be great!”
