Billboard and Twitter announced on Thursday (Apr. 13) that they will partner to stream live content, including artist interviews and more, from the #REVOLVEFestival during the first weekend of the Coachella Festival. The live programs, which will stream exclusively on Twitter, will be produced and hosted by Billboard.
For the first time ever, Billboard will host two live broadcasts from a dedicated on-the-ground location at the exclusive #REVOLVEFestival, located one mile away from the Coachella grounds at the famous Merv Griffin Estate. The site will be flipped into a mainstay for artists and celebrities, and the broadcasts will serve as the ultimate access point to Coachella, with programming from the Billboard Artist Lounge on Twitter.
Billboard and partner REVOLVE will present the Billboard Artist Lounge at the estate where host Chelsea Briggs and other influencers will conduct live interviews and film custom segments with artists and celebrities, for a one-of-a-kind experience for fans unable to attend the event in Indio, California. Billboard will produce two live 75-minute shows while top talent such as Rick Ross, Lil Jon, Migos and more perform at the event.
"Twitter's massive reach will, for the first time, provide the world's music fans with a one-of-a-kind perspective into a VIP, Billboard-produced event most of them have never experienced," said John Amato, President of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group. "Billboard has a massive, dedicated online audience and we look forward to partnering with Twitter to give our passionate fans exclusive access to the music world's biggest events."
The 75-minute shows will air on April 15 and 16 at 8:00 p.m. EST / 5:00 p.m. PST, live from the #REVOLVEFestival, and will be available worldwide to Twitter's logged-in and logged-out audience on Twitter and connected devices. The stream will be available to fans globally at billboard.twitter.com, in Twitter's Explore tab and on @Billboard.
"Music is one of the most Tweeted about topics on Twitter, and the Coachella conversation unfolds in real time on Twitter every year," said Anthony Noto, COO at Twitter. "Thanks to this collaboration with Billboard, fans from all over the world will have access to unique Coachella content, with the live video stream and the related conversation together on Twitter."
Billboard will invite REVOLVE influencers to act as social correspondents alongside Billboard hosts to film video segments for Billboard and Twitter's livestream.
