Major Lazer & Showtek, "Believer"
Major Lazer and Showtek join forces on festival banger "Believer," which debuts at No. 19 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated Oct. 22). The inspirational track collected 857,000 U.S. streams and sold 3,000 downloads in the week ending Oct. 6, according to Nielsen Music, also good for a No. 18 start on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales. Lazer (Diplo, Walshy Fire and Jillionaire) also remains at No. 2 with former No. 1 "Cold Water," featuring Justin Bieber and MO, while Showtek (Dutch brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen) savors its first chart appearance in two years, since "Bad," with David Guetta and featuring VASSY, hit No. 11 in June 2014.
David Guetta, Cedric Gervais & Chris Willis, "Would I Lie to You"
DJs Guetta and Gervais, teaming with vocalist Willis, debut at No. 32 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with a cover of Charles & Eddie's "Would I Lie to You." The original "Lie" marked the only Billboard Hot 100 hit for the duo, reaching No. 13 in 1992. The new version opens with 2,000 sold and is the 20th chart hit for Guetta, tying him with Calvin Harris for the third-most in the chart's nearly four-year history (Skrillex leads with 25). Both Gervais and Willis last reached the list nearly two years ago, Gervais with "Love Again," featuring Ali Tamposi (No. 26), and Willis with "One Life," with Joachim Garraud (No. 29).
Jessica Sanchez, "Stronger Together"
Sanchez soars into the top 20 (26-20) on Dance Club Songs with "Stronger Together," her first chart hit. The track, written and produced by Carole Bayer Sager, Bruce Roberts and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, debuted at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in July in support of party nominee Hillary Clinton. Since, the term "stronger together" has become a driving theme of the campaign, adorning official memorabilia. A star of American Idol's 11th season in 2012, Jessica Sanchez takes the song to clubs via a plethora of remixes, including from Tracy Young, Offer Nissim and John Keenan and Sweet Feet Music, among others.
