Beyoncé’s New Music Video Is the Best Black History Month Present Ever

Consider your Black History Month MADE. Beyoncé just released a new video for her song “Formation,” and it is just the pro-black banger we’ve been waiting for. Set against a New Orleans backdrop, Bey combines powerful imagery (like standing on a New Orleans PD cop car in a flooded street) with even more powerful lyrics (”I like my negro nose with Jackson 5 nostrils”) that leave no doubt – she is unapologetically black, successful, and you will deal with it. Consider all wigs snatched.

As an added bonus, Blue Ivy Carter also makes an appearance in the video, giving us major hair envy with that fleeky ‘fro. Excuse us as we unfurl these bantu knots.

Beyoncé is set to perform alongside Coldplay at the Super Bowl, and we’re hoping she decides to bless us with this track tomorrow evening. In the meantime, enjoy the latest from Queen Bey above.
