Bad Brains’ vocalist Paul “H.R.” Hudson is the subject of an upcoming biography, Finding Joseph I: An Oral History of H.R. from Bad Brains, out January 17 via Lesser Gods. Written by Howie Abrams and James Lathos, the book explores the singer’s life and time with the seminal punk band. The book features interviews with H.R., his bandmates, and stories and commentary from several artists, including Minor Threat/Fugazi’s Ian MacKaye, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, members of Deftones and the Roots, more.

The biography is a companion piece to an upcoming documentary film (also called Finding Joseph I) about H.R., directed by the book’s co-author James Lathos. The documentary will premiere at London’s Doc’n Roll Film Fest on November 10. Find a trailer for Finding Joseph I below.
