Axl Rose Asks Google to Remove ‘Fat Meme’ Photos

Axl Rose is throwing his bandana into the ring in the fight against body-shaming!

As TorrentFreak revealed, the Guns N’ Roses (and new AC/DC) frontman has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Google asking that photographs be removed that were taken in 2010 – when the rock legend was significantly heavier than he was during his 90’s heyday and even now as he’s returned to touring - and resulted in a handful of “Fat Axl” memes.

The original images were taken by a photographer from the Winnipeg Free Press, but the singer is claiming that he is the legal copyright owner - thanks to a “Photography Permission” clause that gives him ownership and also control over “the manner in which the photos can be exploited.”

Axl is notorious for putting his attorneys to work. In the past, he’s been embroiled in legal battles with former bandmates, one of his managers, and the Guitar Hero video game. In 2012, it was reported that he had 29 lawsuits associated with him filed in the L.A. Superior Court.
