Anthony "DJ Reflex" Jaramillo, the former head of radio for Tidal, has jumped to TuneIn where will head the digital audio service's music division, Billboard can exclusively reveal.
In his new role as head of music, Jaramillo has duties for building and maintaining the curation strategy for TuneIn's suite of 50-plus original music stations, and he takes on responsibilities for overseeing artist and label relations.
Jaramillo, who is managed by Roc Nation, brings to the new job more than 17 years of radio experience at Power 106 in Los Angeles, and has a string of production credits on original works and remixes for the likes of Rihanna, BJ The Chicago Kid, Foster The People, and J. Cole.
"I am completely thrilled to bring world class, human curation to TuneIn," comments Jaramillo in a statement. "As a DJ who champions the culture of music, TuneIn will serve as an extremely valuable platform for artists, their music, and their fans."
TuneIn, which claims the largest audio network with more than 60 million monthly active listeners tuning into 100,000-plus live radio stations and millions of on-demand programs, has similarities to other free services like Pandora and iHeart Radio, but with a traditional radio feel since you're tuning directly into an on-air broadcast. The service also has a premium tier that lets subscribers listen to NFL, MLB and NBA games, plus audiobooks and commercial-free music stations.
