'American Idol,’ The Day After: Series Finale Dish With Blake Lewis & Brandon Rogers

Well, this is it. Kieran isn’t here, but if he were, he’d be dimming the lights right now. American Idol is over, and that means so is the Idol edition of “The Day After” – the chat show I started in 2011 with Matt Whitfield and for the past two years have co-hosted with Season 6 alumnus Brandon Rogers. This is the final Idol-themed “The Day After.”

FOR NOW.

To commemorate this bittersweet occasion, Brandon and I have recruited a third panelist, Season 6 runner-up Blake Lewis (who really should’ve gotten a solo on the finale – maybe beatboxing for Larry Platt during the pop medley?), to join today’s chat. Both contestants bring a unique perspective to the discussion, because they were among the many Idol all-stars who performed on Nigel Lythgoe’s nostalgic Season 15 finale Thursday night. (Check out Brandon’s solo below!)

Watch us dish about the finale’s highlights – with some backstage scoop, of course – in A Very Special Episode of “The Day After.”

(Fear not, Voice fans: The Voice edition of “The Day After,” co-hosted by Season 9 top four finalist Jeffery Austin, will keep on going!)
