'American Idol,' The Day After: More Dish About Hollywood Week

Last night on American Idol, this season’s top 48 were revealed. And while it was a very talented bunch (Quentin Alexander, Jax, and Cody Fry being major standouts), with great potential to yield a strong top 24 or top 12, there were some very glaring omissions.

Following the Wednesday eliminations of Rocky Peter, Garrett Miles, and Kory Wheeler, on Thursday, Jess Lamb and supposed shoo-in Adam Lasher went home — to the shock of many viewers, my “The Day After” co-host Brandon Rogers, and myself.

So here today to discuss all of this week’s Idol shenanigans is Season 6 alum and former TV Guide Channel Idol correspondent, the above-mentioned Brandon. Was ageism or sexism the reason for Jess’s dismissal? Did producers favor Mark Andrew over Adam Lasher, and if so, was that the right decision? Did we underestimate Loren Lott? And is it too soon to start hoping for a Quentin/Jax finale?

Watch us dish about all this and more in today’s episode of “The Day After” now!
