‘American Idol,’ The Day After: Dishing About the Semifinals, Week 2

**SCROLL DOWN FOR PART 2**

This week on American Idol, after Wednesday’s solo round and Thursday’s all-star duets, we finally found out the top 14 of Season 15 – i.e., the contestants who will compete for America’s vote, and for the title of the final Idol ever.

And going into next week, my “The Day After” co-host, Season 6 veteran Brandon Rogers, have so much to discuss, that today marks an Idol first: the first i webisode in “The Day After” history.

So. Much. To. Discuss. Such as…

Did the right singers make it through this week? Is this the youngest-skewing batch of semifinalists ever? Are Idol producers stacking the deck with teens to attract that elusive millennial viewership – and if so, is that why they’ve taken away the fans’ voting power until the top 14 week? Why didn’t Kory Wheeler make it through? Is Lee Jean ready for prime time? Has Tristan McIntosh already peaked? Why wasn’t Edwin McCain’s “I’ll Be” blacklisted from Idol, like, 10 seasons ago, and why does Jennifer Lopez only want contestants to do boring, familiar songs, anyway? And speaking of J.Lo, why is she pretending that she was always a Haley Reinhart fan, when anyone with access to YouTube can check out Season 10 clips that tell a very different tale?

Brandon and I answer all these burning questions and more. Much, much more. If three hours of actual Idol Fox programming wasn’t enough for you this week, this double “Day After” is for you! Enjoy.
