'Roadies': Showtime Unveils Trailer for Cameron Crowe Rock Comedy

If you’ve spent the last 16 years wishing that Almost Famous, Cameron Crowe’s romantic take on the life of a rock-and-roll groupie, would become a TV series — well, this summer, you’ll almost get your wish. On June 26, Showtime will debut Roadies, a one-hour comedy written, directed, and executive produced by Crowe himself. Starring Carla Guigino and Luke Wilson, Roadies follows “the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of ‘roadies’ who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way.” Yep, that sounds like a Cameron Crowe joint.

Oh, and if you’re thinking the voice singing in the trailer above sounds familiar, you are correct: It’s none other than Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder performing a track called “Hard Sun.”

So, does Roadies look like it could be your jam? Let us know in the comments.

Roadies premieres Sunday, June 26 at 10 p.m. on Showtime.
