Argentine singer/songwriter Fito Paez, known as one of the most poetic lyricists in a country of rock-n-roll bards, has entered into a new management deal with Miami's 2PK Entertainment.
"Fito Paez has a fervent fan base for whom his music is almost a religion," 2PK's Jose Puig says of the Argentine rocker, who has released 22 albums over more than three decades. "He's a rock en Español icon. But there are new audiences who have yet to discover him."
Paez, who is signed to Sony Music Latin, is headed to Miami's Hit Factory studio this spring to record an album, which Puig predicts will resonate with young audiences.
"We think it's a great time for a great rock album with a message," says Puig, a Latin label veteran who founded 2PK with manager Walter Kolm, who also helms W.K. Entertainment.
Paez celebrated his 54th birthday on March 13 with a solo piano concert in Bogota. He'll perform throughout Central America later this month.
