Your 'Terminator 2' Flashback: Watch This 1991 Making-Of Special

When Terminator 2: Judgment Day came out, it was a major cinematic event – and director James Cameron wanted to make sure that everyone knew it. This making-of special appears to be a promotion for the film’s home video release in Australia, and it features some fun behind-the-scenes moments, like Arnold Schwarzenegger sitting for his facial prosthetics, the cast doing weapons training, a stunt double riding an overturned oil tanker, and Linda Hamilton wearing the world’s largest coat.

This special appears to be an abbreviated version of the one shown on ABC in 1991 (which can be watched in three parts on YouTube), but it has the added bonus of featuring commercials for the year’s other VHS releases, including Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, The Doors, and The Fisher King. To complete your Terminator 2 flashback, check out this behind-the-scenes Empire magazine feature about the film from 1991, which uses the tagline “On location with the most expensive film ever made.” Then come back to the present and watch the new trailer for Terminator: Genisys, in theaters next July.
