Last year’s Creed proved that there’s plenty of fight left in the Rocky franchise, earning $109.7 million at the domestic box-office and nabbing Sylvester Stallone a Best Supporting Actor trophy at the Golden Globes. However, for real proof of that franchise’s enduring power, one need look no further than a new video of one of its youngest (and fittest) fans — whose eye-of-the-tiger enthusiasm is now receiving praise from none other than Stallone himself.

On July 6, Ohio dad Zack Magilavy posted a video to Facebook of his toddler son Charlie mimicking the on-screen moves of Sylvester Stallone in 1979’s Rocky II — a training regimen that Charlie refers to as his “workout with Rocky.” Apparently, the boy has been emulating Stallone’s Philly pugilist for the last year, and after his father put the video online, it quickly went viral, garnering an astonishing 2.4 million views. Moreover, it successfully fulfilled Magilavy’s hope that it might “make it back to Sly” when, yesterday, Stallone reposted the clip on Instagram with a message for Charlie:

This kid makes me so proud that it touches A heart so young … Maybe I have to fight him and ROCKY 10 !!!

It’ll be a long time before Charlie is ready to step into the ring, but the 70-year-old actor remains in such phenomenal shape that we wouldn’t put it past him to eventually square off against his newest admirer.
