Well get ready to add another Burgundian milestone to your memory calendar, cause we’re proud to announce that the drama “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: No Joke Cut” will get the release it so solemnly deserves. And we’ve got the exclusive gut-wrenching clip above to prove it!

This is no joke: In the new cut, there are no jokes.

Doesn’t it just make sense? Because when you strip away all the hee-hawing, isn’t Ron Burgundy’s rags-to-riches story truly dramatic at heart?

Writer, director Adam McKay certainly thinks so: “People know that Will [Ferrell] and I do many joke options for our movies, but I think what gets lost is the fact that underneath the laughs there’s a very powerful drama at work. I’m just glad, with the no joke cut, audiences can finally appreciate the rawness and drama of ‘Anchorman 2.’”

“Comedies often fail to get the consideration they deserve because laughter masks the serious storytelling going on beneath the surface,” adds producer Judd Apatow.  “This new cut illustrates that ‘Anchorman 2’ can hold its weight against any drama.”

We’ll soon see if that’s the case, when “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: No Joke Cut” debuts next month. And we’ll know even more if, as expected, the “No Joke Cut” is still being talked about during Awards Season.
