Wonder Woman Is the Primary Attraction in 'Batman v Superman,' According to Survey

Zack Snyder’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice may bill itself as a battle royale between DC Comics’ two marquee male superheroes, but according to a Fandango survey, it’s Wonder Woman that the audience is most excited to see

As Deadline reports, the movie ticketing site surveyed fans to find out what’s driving their interest in the Dark Knight/Man of Steel grudge match. Of those who responded, 88 percent said “they were excited to finally see Wonder Woman on the big screen.” By contrast, only 60 percent were intrigued to see Jesse Eisenberg’s take on Lex Luthor and 66 percent identified themselves as fans of Snyder’s work.

Batman v. Superman, which introduces Gal Gadot in the role of the badass wielder of the golden lasso, marks the first time Wonder Woman has appeared in a feature film, even though the character has existed in the comics world for 75 years. She’ll be a big part of Warner Bros.’ upcoming attempts to expand the DC Comics cinematic universe, including Wonder Woman, a movie that finally gives her the starring role, and Justice League Part One, both due out next year.

In the meantime, let’s just take that Fandango survey as further evidence that moviegoers are genuinely eager to see films with strong females in lead roles.
