While it's not advised to wear overt campaign merch while hitting the voting booth today, no one said anything about a little subliminal messaging.
Lena Dunham and Taylor Swift both rocked cold-shoulder tops to the polls - a reference, perhaps, to Hillary Clinton's now-iconic Donna Karan look from the '90s - and Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a cat-print Stella McCartney coat (and we all know what that's about).
Another trend with female Clinton supporters on Election Day? Wearing the Democratic candidate's uniform of choice: the pantsuit. From tiny tots who won't be able to actually cast a ballot for quite a few more years, to a 102-year-old woman who has exercised her right several times over the decades, ladies are busting out their best monochromatic suits and posting the looks online with the hashtag #Pantsuits.
Trendsetters like Beyonce, Solange and Naomie Harris have all worn pantsuits over the past few days, however a Facebook group, Pantsuit Nation, might be responsible for this one. The group created for Clinton supporters now boasts over 1 million members; it has served as a discussion board where women are sharing their stories about why they're voting for the Democratic nominee.
Even Cindy McCain, wife of 2008 Republican presidential nominee John McCain (who has publicly stated that he is not voting for Trump), rocked a white pantsuit to the polls. Coincidence?
