Why 'Deadpool' Is Making Travel 'Torture' for Blake Lively

Typically when your spouse’s movie is a smash hit, there isn’t too much that can go wrong, unless that movie is Deadpool. Blake Lively was on The Tonight Show and told host Jimmy Fallon about the unexpected consequences of the success of Deadpool, the R-rated superhero film starring her husband, Ryan Reynolds. “It’s kind of torture these days because I’m on a plane and everywhere I look, every screen is my husband in a sex montage throughout the holidays with another woman,” Lively said. “Because everybody wants to watch Deadpool on the plane. Everyone.”

Uncomfortable to say the least, but Deadpool is the highest grossing R-rated film of all time. Even if it’s grossing out Blake, who describes it as “a cruel and unusual form of torture.” But the Deadpool imagery doesn’t affect just Lively, who typically travels with her young daughter, James. “Then my daughter goes, ‘Dada!’ And then she starts like hugging and kissing the screen and waving at him, and he’s not waving back,” said Lively. “And she doesn’t understand why he’s not waving back at her cause she thinks it’s like Facetime.”
