What's a Typical Day for Ron Burgundy and the 'Anchorman 2' News Team?
If you think you know all there is to know about “Anchorman 2" and its illustrious news team, comprised of Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Champ Kind, and the incomparable Brick Tamland, we’re happy to tell you that no, you don’t. Even after watching the trailers, the cast’s seemingly endless promotional appearances and even the movie which arrived in theaters today, there are still more questions that need answering like: what is a typical day like for the news team? What do they do and think about all day? Also, who loves Ron Burgundy the most? The best?
Yahoo Movies recently sat down with Will Ferrell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, producer Judd Apatow and director Adam McKay to find out what makes these quirky characters tick. Hint: It involves a mix of the following: body oil, sit-ups, alcohol, fist fights and fecal matter (blame Apatow for that last one).
"Well they all live together in the same apartment," said Ferrell. "Ron probably starts his day by gargling with Listerine, that seems like something he would gargle with, and then does a series of exercises, kind of a Jack Lalanne series of weird sit-ups and things."
"I’ll tell ya a typical day for Champ, he might not wake up in the apartment," Koechner said. "He wakes up from whatever blackout he was in, gets his bearings, finds out how to get back home."
Ladies man Brian Fantana apparently gets his daily inspiration and motivation from another cinematic legend: Julian from “American Gigolo.”
"I think my guy gets up, if he’s not working, probably around 11 a.m. and immediately puts on those ankle boots that hang you upside down," said Rudd. "Like a gravity boot thing, because he saw Richard Gere do it in ‘American Gigolo.’"
What’s Brick up to?
"Oh Brick would get up, put on a suit, go for a swim," said Carell.

However when it comes to getting these esteemed actors to perform the above antics, both McKay and Apatow want the audience to know that it doesn’t come easy; it takes a lot of their hard work to get the guys going.
"McKay gets tough on the cast, day one he’ll say to Carell, ‘I know you’re on the most beloved TV show of all time, but here I’m in charge, and just shut up. Listen for once in your life," Apatow said of his co-producer/director.
"Actors like when you talk to them that way. They like when you diminish them, diminish their achievements," added McKay. "They like boundaries. They’re like 3-year-olds in that sense and I’ll usually fight one of them on the first day to establish dominance."
"I will throw fecal matter," said Apatow.
“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" is in theaters now.
