What It Took to Become Vision in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'

If director Joss Whedon calls and asks if you want to be a superhero in Avengers: Age of Ultron, you say, “Yes!” And that’s exactly what Paul Bettany did while sitting on the side of the road in Hollywood, moments after a tough rejection.

The one thing he didn’t factor into that speedy decision however, was the intense and uncomfortable process he would soon endure to become the character of Vision. The undertaking included things like his hair being glued to his head, and wearing a prosthetic around his ears that made it impossible for him to hear direction.

Luckily, he had a pretty great perspective about it all when he admitted to Yahoo, “It’s only as uncomfortable as getting paid a lot of money to be in a slightly uncomfortable suit is.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out on Blu-ray on Friday.
