What Does the 'Force Awakens' DVD Trailer Reveal About Kylo Ren?
The trailer for the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” dropped online yesterday. But Star Wars fans wouldn’t possibly look at a one-minute-and-fifteen-second video clip and attempt to parse it for information. Ha ha, just kidding, of course they would.

If you’ll report to the :48-second mark in the above trailer, when the deleted scenes are first referenced, you’ll notice a moment where Kylo Ren walks onboard the Millennium Falcon and whispers, “Han Solo,” something we do not see him do at all, in any form, in the final cut of the movie.
The good people at Uproxx have concluded that, in keeping with rumors that, in the original script, Kylo Ren attempts to shoot down the Falcon, there may have been an effort to establish a Kylo/Han connection much earlier in the movie.
Holding off on that seems like a smart move in retrospect. A less smart move? Not including a commentary track on this Force Awakens DVD.
Among the extras that are on the DVD: a making-of documentary, featurettes that focus on the creation of BB-8, visual effects, and John Williams’s score, among other things; and, as noted above, some deleted scenes. But sadly, we won’t get a play-by-play from J.J. Abrams or anyone else to listen to.
Starwars.com also notes that the 3D version of the film won’t be available until later this year. As for this initial DVD/Blu-ray Force Awakens release, it will be available April 5, just in time for all your spring break deleted-scenes-analysis needs.
