Jimmy Fallon & Andy Samberg Boil Movie Plots Down to (Hilarious) Seconds

We love you, IMDB. But your movie synopses have nothing on the ad-libbed, perfectly succinct summaries of Jimmy Fallon and Andy Samberg. The Tonight Show host and his fellow Saturday Night Live alum/gel-haired suit-wearer engaged in a (low-stakes) game of “Guess the Movie From These Ridiculously Short Descriptions,” and the results were predictably funny.

Here’s how it works: One player gives a series of clues about a movie, while the other has to the guess the title. The catch is that the descriptions have to be completed in five seconds, resulting in a series of micro-summaries, like this one for Men in Black: “Black guy, white guy, aliens. Sunglasses. Suits.” As the game goes on, the descriptions get even shorter — and weirder.

The very best synopsis, however, was one that wasn’t even intended to be part of the game. After Fallon incorrectly guesses Basic Instinct for the first movie, Samberg replies, “If it was Basic Instinct, I would’ve just gone like that" before channeling Sharon Stone and spreading his legs open.

Round 2, please.
