Watch Social Media Star Matthew Espinosa in the Trailer for His First Movie 'Be Somebody'
Matthew Espinosa has a massive amount of social media followers — around 17 million on various platforms. He’s so famous, he has started near-riots at shopping malls in the U.S. and Canada. He is only 18-years-old, and unless you are a teen who spends a serious amount of time on Vine, it’s possible you have’t heard of him yet.
Well, that may change when Espinosa stars in his first movie, Be Somebody, which opens June 10 in select theaters and on VOD and digital HD. (You can pre-order on iTunes here.) In it, he plays a fictional, Bieber-esque pop star named Jordan Jaye who strikes up a friendship with a young woman (Sarah Jeffery) delivering pizza who’s not at all impressed with his crazy levels of fame. Be Somebody provides Espinosa’s fans with the opportunity to engage with him in a way that lasts longer than a Vine video while simultaneously living out their fantasies of having a spontaneous hangout with their favorite teen sensation.
