Watch Liam Neeson Go From Hunter to Hunted in New Trailer for 'Taken 3'
You’d think bad guys would have learned this lesson by now: Do not take things from Liam Neeson! The actor returns as ex-CIA agent Bryan Mills in Taken 3, aka Tak3n, the latest film in the vengeance-driven action franchise. Once again, our hero’s daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) and her mother Lenore (Famke Janssen) are in peril. This time, unfortunately, one of those poor women doesn’t even make it through the trailer alive. And here’s the twist: Mills is being framed for the murder. This new trailer contains a reference to the famous phone-call scene from the original Taken (2008), with the roles reversed: This time, it’s Neeson who’s on the run, and when law enforcement promises to hunt him down, he’s the one who says: “Good luck.”
With Neeson uttering lines like “I was always ready to face the consequences,” and “I’m going to finish this,” the trailer implies that Tak3n will be the final film in the series. The star said as much in a recent chat with USA Today. "It’s a rollicking good story. But I think this is the end,” Neeson told the newspaper. Then again, couldn’t producer Luc Besson just follow Hollywood’s lead and reboot the franchise with Jeremy Renner?
Tak3n opens in theaters on Jan. 9, 2015.
