Watch Johnny 'Mad Hatter' Depp Surprise Disneyland Visitors
For one day, the Happiest Place on Earth became the Deppiest Place on Earth. As revealed in the video above, Johnny Depp recently had a little fun with visitors to Disneyland to promote his return as the Mad Hatter in the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass. The actor got in character and, via a two-way video connection, interacted with — and freaked out — guests as they walked past his kiosk.
Many of the passersby did double-takes as Depp addressed them. Our favorite? Heather at the 1-minute mark, who’s so excited she needs to be bleeped when the star of her favorite movie starts talking to her.
Alice Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to Tim Burton’s live-action Alice in Wonderland, co-stars Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, and features the voice of the late Alan Rickman. The film, directed by James Bobin, arrives in theaters May 27.
