There may be no celebrity more adept at using social media to spread the word about his projects than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. That’s continued as production has progressed on Fast 8, next summer’s installment in the never-say-die car franchise. For his latest tease from the set (following posts and videos from star Vin Diesel and director F. Gary Gray), Johnson has provided more photos and two videos that show him goofing off and getting the explosive job done on the set of Gray’s sequel.

As we know from previous images, Johnson’s law enforcement badass Hobbs will — for unknown reasons — spend at least part of Fast 8 in a supermax penitentiary before breaking out in spectacular fashion. (Go here to see the full slideshow of snaps from the set, including Johnson’s latest teases about Hobbs’ fate.)

In one Instagram video, the star says hi to fans at 4 a.m. during a particularly arduous setup that appears to have him cornered by a cop car. “It’s a very precise shot,” Johnson jokes before asking a wry crew member to describe why they have to be careful with his fortune-earning mug.

Then, to prove that he does his own stunts (or, at least, the safer ones), Johnson uploaded a second video that shows him tossing a grenade and diving out of the way of its blowback — all set to an aptly cocky (and very NSFW) song from Kid Rock.

While few details are known about the plot of Fast 8, the film — following in the footsteps of 2015’s $1.5 billion-grossing Furious 7 — is set to be one of next year’s box-office goliaths when it crashes into theaters on April 14, 2017.
